In this course you will learn how to make squares for a blanket that are different from the standard mitered squares and are fun to do. This is a great travel project as you work on each square individually. You will learn how to do German short rows, modified three needle bind-off and is a great way to use up your scrap fingering weight yarn, or use mini skeins. You will become addicted to this project with the play of colour. Each triangle uses up approximately 5 grams of yarn.
You will need 3 mm needles to knit the squares, which you can use double pointed needles, short straight needles or circular needles. If you are using double pointed needles then we suggest using some Point Protectors to stop the ends of your needles so you don’t accidentally lose stitches off the end.
You will be required to bring to the class a copy of Pinwheel Scrap Blanket by Knitting Expat Designs which is a paid pattern on Ravelry. We can order and print the pattern for you if you do not want to purchase it online yourself. The pattern is approximately 5.50$ Canadian.
